Tevez: Set for United exit
Any club I join, whether it be Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool or Everton, will be a rival of Manchester United.
Carlos Tevez
Quotes of the week
Carlos Tevez has admitted he expects to leave Manchester United in the summer and would have no qualms about joining one of the Red Devils' rivals.
The Argentine forward recently strongly hinted that he will depart Old Trafford at the end of the season as he reaches the end of a two-year loan deal in the North West.
Tevez, who has made 16 Premier League starts this campaign, has grown frustrated at his inconsistent role in Sir Alex Ferguson's side and claims the club have made little effort to extend his stay.
He said: "I am very sad about this but I guess what I'm saying is goodbye.
"I don't think I will be a Manchester United player next season. I have done everything I possibly can but they have never made me an offer or given me a contract so I have to leave.
"I think I will be at another club next season.
"I have not been treated as a member of the family. I do not feel wanted. I feel bad over my situation, I do, but it's very, very difficult to stay any longer.
"The fans treat me like family but United have not signed me so they do not respect me as a footballer."
He continued: "Things have changed dramatically this season. I was dropped - yet I didn't perform badly. Sir Alex never gave me an explanation but I never asked him for one because it is not in my character.
"I accepted it but maybe Sir Alex didn't feel the same way about me. Maybe he didn't have confidence in me any more."
Former West Ham attacker Tevez, who is a crowd favourite among the United faithful, stressed he was settled in England and would consider joining another Premier League club.
He said: "It's not true my family are unhappy in England. It's not true I want to leave England for Spain. My four-year-old daughter Florencia is learning English and my wife is very happy living in England.
"We want to stay. I want to play in England because it is the best league in the world and it suits my style.
"Any club I join, whether it be Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool or Everton, will be a rival of Manchester United.
"I would like to thank the United fans for their support. They will always have a special place in my heart.
"If I was a United fan I wouldn't want to see their player in any other shirt but I think they will accept I've done everything I can."

Please do everything to keep Tevez he is one of the best players to have ever put on a man utd shirt. Losing him will be a tragedy worse than losing the premier league on the final day. Fergie do what ever you can to keep him because over the few years we have him he has been an inspiration to many footballers and fans, he shows dedication when ever he has the man utd shirt on. A huge manchester united fan from South Africa.

It's all loud and clear. Tevez compared to Berba, No match at all. Berba is one very lazy footballer. He does nothing but shielding the ball and letting the opponents strategize, Tevez is tenacious, shoots from anywhere and he only wants victory for United. How many times has he come in to earn the winning and important goal for us, even while berba plays all along and yet cann't make an impact. We want Tevez in, Berba sold out to any other club that would wish to have him. If not so, let him know that the United faithfuls haven't credited him any aplause so far. Besides, let Tevez's agents know that their 30mil tag is too much.

This is really sad news. With all respect to Sir Alex, the treatment that has been given to Carlos Tévez has been disrespectful. Aside from playing or not, Carlos has a family who needs to know what is next. Inside the pitch we will lose big time. Having an attack formed by Ronaldo, Rooney and Tévez is just perfect, a dynamic rarely seen and sadly not to be seen anymore again. Berbatov should be the one in the bench.

He has endless energy. He causes havoc for every defensive line opposing him. He creates room in the front for his team mates to play into. No one can argue this. His pricetag just is not worth it however. At a club that generally likes to grow their own talent, for most part, the cost of Keeping Tevez simply cannot be justified.

Tevez is worth the money. Why? because he got us two PL titles and a CL and working on the other. HE puts himself on the field more than any other. TEVEZ is a RED DEVIL. Berba, NANI, Manucho, are not NOT. Fergie DOESNT want to spend the money because he is soooo afraid RONALDO will leave, and he will have to go out on buy and cover up for CR7 exit. WHAT A SHAME. YOU WANT TO KEEP SOME ONE WHO WILL LEAVE, YET YOU LET GO A MAN WHO WILL DIE FOR YOU!!!! what is wrong with this world????

He is a quality player that inspires confidence but I don't think that he is worth the 30 million asking fee. A good buy at 20 million. Man utd have many quality players and they can do without him. I would like to see him at Arsenal as we need players who give 100% and who have experience but Arsenal wouldn't consider spending more than 15 million for any player

Absolutely disgusted at how Tevez is being treated by Man Utd. The player has surely done more than enough to warrant some respect at least! It could be that Sir Alex Ferguson is trying to balance the books at Old Trafford at Tevez's expense - Sir Alex was caught with his 'Berba' surely! To suggest that 'Berba is my Cantona' must have been the joke of the millenium as well - Berbatov is extremely overrated. I hope that Tevez ends up at Arsenal. Wishful thinking perhaps?

I'll be very sad to see Tevez go. It's true that his goal scoring hasn't been great this season but thats no reason to doubt the man. Every game he gives 100% and his pace suits the teams fast attitude towards the game. I would rather have a talented player like Tevez who gives his all and does his part than someone like Berbatov who spends a good 70% of his time strolling around and when he does score, taps it in because it just happens to fall to his feet. Berbatov will never be a great united player because great united players are not slackers, they'e the grafters like giggs and scholes still out running and outs dribbling 20 year old defenders because they refuse to quit. Tevez could be one of uniteds greats if he stayed but if he doesn't I wish him all the best!

This is an absolute joke. Carlos Tevez is a wonderful footballer with a work ethic rarely found in high profile players these days. The kind of player i thought Ferguson would have in his team over the moody, lazy, moaner that is Berbatov. Berba is without question a quality player, but i can not understand his constant inclusion at the expense of Tevez. People said that Rooney and Tevez were too similar to play together and then went on to play some magical football which delivered the champions cup Ferguson had been aching to win again. Why disrupt that winning formula? Unfortunately Tevez's departure is now inevitable. With youngsters like Macheda and Wellbeck coming through i cant see the £30 million plus needed to keep him being coughed up. Good luck wherever you end up Carlos. Maybe go to Madrid. They could do with some quality in their side.

I've rarely disagreed with anything Fergie has done over the years, but letting Tevez go would surely be a huge mistake. He brings so much more to the team than the likes of Berbatov, who to be honest, really hasn't proven himself since joining United. Tevez shows so much determination everytime he puts on a United shirt and that's exactly what you need. Fergie needs to admit that signing Berbatov was a mistake, get rid of him, and keep Tevez!

Dean - I know a lot more United supporters who don't think he's worth the £30m than do. Do we want him to stay? Yes. Do we want to pay £30m for him? No. Anwar - "rarely loses the ball"? All he's done this season is lose the ball. David - Glad to see someone talking sense. Good man! Martin - He has actually played more (in the league at least) since January than Berbatov or Rooney, yet scored and assisted a lot less. We all know that last season he did a good job. But this season he has been given a lot more chances and playing time than people seem to realise and has put in bad performance after bad performance after bad performance. He's had maybe 3 or 4 good games all season. While Berbatov has only had a couple of bad games all season. He has been consistantly great, despite it being his first season for the club and despite having had 2 or 3 injuries.

I think Sir Alex has got this one very wrong. Tevez has been nothing but a soldier for united. In my opinion he has even compromised his attacking ability by working so hard unlike some I need not mention on that team. During the period just before Christmas Tevez was playing even better than Wayne Rooney. That takes some doing! I think his honesty and passion for United has been thrown right back into his face. Not enough respect or support from Sir Alex if you ask me. Things are going well now but We will what happens when Rooney or Berba get injured. I think we know there is no one nearly as good to step in. Tevez has done all he can. He could have been given more 90 minute games! He is a much beter player than we have seen recently. The only reason he isnt performing to his potential is because all this is playing on his mind. Football is a psychological game. i wish him well where ever he goes. I'm a Manchester United fan but i would personally love it if he scored a hat-trick against United. People shouldnt be treated this way. I'm sure most football-educated people will agree. Absolute travesty. We go and throw £17m at Nani, £31m at Berbatov, and around £17m on two Serbians, one of which looks out of his depth in the reserves (at least Ljajic looks good), yet we won't splash out on a player who has given blood, sweat and tears for a club he's been on loan to. Tevez is a dying breed in the modern game, any team would be lucky to have him. Annoyingly we don't seem to see that and I am absolutely gutted. In two years we have won The Premier League, The European Cup (where Tevez was immense against Barcelona in the finest 1 man show I've ever seen), The Club World Cup, The League Cup and are on the way to another Premier League and Champions League.... all since Tevez came, so surely he does something worth keeping him for?

If I were Sir Alex, I would do 2 things: 1) Sell Berbatov 2) Sign Tevez Tevez suits the premiership down to the ground with his battling style, yet adds the south american flair that can unlock defences. He plays with passion and makes a difference when he's played. We need to remember that this is a world class player (unlike berbatov), who would cause untold damage to united if he were partnered up front with someone like Torres at Liverpool.

A fantastic player who has not been given the chances since "Stroller Berbatof " arrived . Mind you the asking price of 34 Million in a squad already filled with fantastic riches probably isn't good business - Fergie knows best as he has proved time and again . Don't think the comparison with Giggs makes any sence as Tevez is in his absolute prime while Giggs is in a rich vein of form , is also in the twilight of his brilliant United career which is why he is playing the impact role and preserving his energy for when it can count most .

I've always thought Tevez made a huge mistake when he joined UTD, instead of linking up with Javier Mascherano at Liverpool. It's no secret that Rafa tried to bring Carlos to Liverpool, what he could have done and achieved in a Liverpool shirt. You can never be too late in my opinion, I think Tevez could be a brilliant player once again, if he joined Liverpool. His style would fit so nicely in our system, just playing to the right off Torres with Gerrard coming up the middle. Ah just thinking about it is mouth-watering. As much as I rate Tevez, I do not believe he is worth 30 million. We paid 20-27 at the most for El Nino, who is arguably the best striker on the planet at the moment. I have to say though I would love to see Samuel Eto'o come to Liverpool too, he's obviously not respected by Pep Guardiola or Barcelona as they did not want him last season.

Being a Manchester United fan, I am sad too see him go because of his tenacious style and his commitment to the cause. However, losing him will not be as great of a loss as people are making out. His first touch is shocking, if someone passes to his feet, more often than not the ball will bounce away from him and he will be forced to go into a challenge with an opposition player. Also, when he does have the ball at his feet, too often he runs into trouble rather than looking up for a pass. In comparison, there is Berbatov, whose first touch and creativity are sublime. United fans still sing about Cantona, but when there is a player who is so similar to him playing for us, they jump on his back so quickly it beggers belief, how often did you see Eric running around trying to tackle people? Berbatov is class, and if you can't see that, then you should go and support another team. Admittely, he's not set the world alight this season, but he's not as bad as people make out, and he does need to learn to make a run after his pass, but this can be sorted out. Look at Teddy Sheringham, in his first season he wasn't that great, but in the following seasons he was class. This is what happens when you give players time and patience, get off Berbatov's back.

I will be sad to see Tevez go - he has been a great servant to the club. I agree he deserves to be starting more games - but he should also be scoring more goals. However, to go to Liverpool would be to completely disrespect the fans that have, in his own words, treated him like family. To even suggest such a thing suggests he really doesn't understand what it means to be a United player as much as he claims - sounds to me its more about his relationship with the Old Trafford crowd inflating his ego. I'll be glad if he finds a way to stay, and if he goes, so be it - but if it's to Liverpool FC, then pure and simple, hes a traitor.

Tevez is great, but i dont think SAF can justify spending £30 mil to keep him. He's too similar to rooney, and the only thing ronney lacks compared to tevez is goal poaching. But utd have goals that can come from all over the team, so spending £30 mil to keep him, is just too much. We dont need him, and the reason why berbe is more useful than him, is that he brings us somethig different all together. We have young players who can come in and do a job if we need them, and we very rarely play more than one out and out striker in a game, so we just dont need to have him. Thank you tevez, for your great service, but when you came to utd you said you would want to go back to Boca "before you got fat" when you ware 27 or 28. How can you expect us to spend £30 mil on you and then pay you another £30 mil to play for us for only another 3 4 seasons, its just not going to happen. And i've lost respect for you that you dont understand that!
