Evra: Respects Tevez
Patrice Evra has hailed the professionalism of Manchester United team-mate Carlos Tevez following his performance in Sunday's derby.
The Argentine striker had declared prior to the match that he did not feel part of the United 'family' and expected to leave Old Trafford over the summer.
He turned in a superb display in the 2-0 victory over Manchester City and scored the crucial second goal.
His celebration has been viewed as a challenge to Sir Alex Ferguson's authority, after he ran to the touchline and cupped his hands behind his ears, apparently highlighting how much the supporters want him to stay.
However, Evra has backed Tevez and insisted he would never disrespect the club.
"Carlos is a world class player but he is also a very good professional," said the Frenchman.
"He may have had problems but in all the time he has played he respected the shirt of Manchester United."
United need just four more points from their final three league games to clinch the title but Evra is taking nothing for granted ahead of Wednesday's trip to Wigan.
"The job is not finished yet," said the left-back.
"But if we win against Wigan maybe we can smile a bit more where the title is concerned."
