Manchester United have announced that Rodrigo Possebon has joined Sporting Braga on a season-long loan.

The Brazilian midfielder moved to England from Internacional in the January transfer window in 2008 but has failed to make an impression at Old Trafford.

Having made his debut in the first game of last season, at home to Newcastle, Possebon, 20, made a total of only three starts and five substitute appearances.

A statement on United's official website said: "Brazilian midfielder Rodrigo Possebon will spend the entire 2009/10 season on loan at Portuguese side Sporting Braga."

Last season Braga finished fifth in the Liga Sagres and will be taking part in the 2009/10 Europa League.
