Boaz Myhill has signed a new three-year contract at Hull City, committing himself to the club until 2012.

The 26-year-old was loaned to five different clubs in less than two years while at Aston Villa before he finally found some stability when he signed for the Tigers for £50,000 in December 2003 with the club then in League Two.

Since then both player and club have progressed tremendously with Myhill going on to win international honours with Wales.

However, Myhill hit a stumbling block halfway through last season when he found himself dropped to the bench and replaced by Matt Duke.

The former Villa trainee rose to the challenge and regained his place in Phil Brown's starting XI before the end of the campaign, leaving Brown in no doubt that he had to tie his goalkeeper to a new deal.

"Over the last two or three years, I have seen that Boaz Myhill is a Premier League goalkeeper, there is no doubt about that," Brown told the club's official website.

"He stepped up to the plate very admirably last season, albeit in difficult circumstances with Matt Duke breathing down his neck last year.

"I know Dukey got himself into the first team for six or seven games and that must have surprised Bo at the time, but he has come back stronger.

"I'm delighted to get Bo tied up to a decent contract long term."
