Pogba: Ongoing saga
Manchester United have written to Le Havre to warn the French club they will take action if allegations regarding financial inducements in the signing of Paul Pogba continue.
It has been reported that Ligue 1 outfit Le Havre claim United offered Pogba's family money and a house in order to tempt the teenager to Old Trafford.
The story has emerged in the wake of Chelsea's transfer ban from Fifa following the signing of Gael Kakuka from Lens in 2007.
United have, therefore, been angered by suggestions that they have broken rules in the signing of Pogba.
"In response to the wholly unfounded comments widely reported in the media of Le Havre AC President, Jean-Pierre Louvel, Manchester United wish to categorically confirm that as a matter of club policy and in accordance with the applicable football regulations, we do not offer inducements to the parents of players who sign for the club such as monetary payments or the purchase of houses," said United in a statement.
"Manchester United have today written to Le Havre AC to put it on notice that action will be taken if such allegations are repeated in relation to the transfer of Paul Pogba.
"Manchester United is entirely satisfied that the transfer of Paul Pogba has been conducted in accordance with the regulations set down by the world governing body, Fifa.
"Manchester United is ready to defend any claim brought against it by Le Havre at Fifa.
"It is to be noted that all contractual documentation relating to the player's registration with the club has already been fully ratified by the Football Association and the Premier League."

Well i hope this is just all in the wake of the chelsea case. All that said if Manu have been naughty then they themselves need to be punished like Chelsea were. I agree with others that it seems like a case for bulllying but then manu dont need there name being dragged through the mud either. I think signing young talent from abroad is wrong anyway. i think we need to develope more of your own players but manu are not the worse for foreign stars. we do have young english talent coming through as we speak. I think all the big clubs around the world have a tendancy to pick up young talent from abroad and this sometimes frustrates other smaller clubs who are trying to hold onto what stars they have to progress. If you wanna point fingers for tapping up then i think Real Madrid are the worse.

it's a bit strange that it's always French clubs pointing the finger at English prem clubs, why is it nobody is saying anything about the French raiding Africa taking young children and families to France giving them all French passports then moaning when they want to move to a better league! isn't that just as bad but UEFA / FIFA don't see anything wrong with that why?

i think everyone should boycot the premier league and support local football. every time a fan goes to see their premier league side, their only contributing to another rolex or Bentley. let the lower leagues have a bite of the cherry!! half the players are over-rated! the atmosphere of top flight has vanished anyway, get down to GIGG where you can watch the match, have a pie n a pint without bustin the economy.

It would not suprise me if these allegations/stories have come from the chelsea camp or one of the other top6 clubs especially in the wake of the Chelsea ban and they know united have best part of £80 million to spend !

its diffcult to believe anything in football these days. Ronaldo swore for a whole year that he wasn't leaving United and his stance was backed up by everyone (including SAF) at the club. Arsene Wenger swears blind that his player didn't take a dive against Celtic. So who can you believe? Nobody.

i think all this nicking young players from europe would be stopped if fifa put a ban on players from other countries moving to other countries until 21 years old would also help each countries national development to because each country would have to devevelop its own young stars at club level , so this would help the english game at national and club level .

I am happy to know that man united will fight against the allegations made by Le Havre, this headline only came up AFTER chelsea were handed a transfer ban for 2 windows. All in all, even if united did get the transfer ban we have a strong squad currently and with the likes of macheda welbeck gibson and evans coming up from the youth academy we will be able to manage without signing players throughout january and the summer.
