Arsenal and France defender Bacary Sagna has sung the praises of his club and country managers Arsene Wenger and Raymond Domenech.

Sagna says his club boss Wenger continues to surprise him with his positive attitude, while France manager Domenech deflects criticism from the players.

But he believes the French public must understand that the current team is not the same as the 1998 World Cup winning side.

He told Le 10 Sport: "Wenger has never stopped surprising me with his never-ending positive state of mind.

Calm

"Even if our adversary is leading at half-time, he remains calm, precise, and says the right words.

"He never gets mad. He also impressed us with his fine figure and charisma."

Sagna also praised Domenech, who led the French side to the 2006 World Cup final before the team crashed out of the 2008 European Championship at the group stage.

"Raymond Domenech is getting all the blows, taking the criticism, protecting us from the media. He takes everything on him, just like Jose Mourinho. That way, the players are not affected," said Sagna.

"The whole of France is against him and so (it) leaves us in peace. It was exactly the same before the 2006 World Cup and it was quite a success for him."

Tiresome

But Sagna says it is still tiresome that people talk about Domenech and the 2008 Euro Championship failure rather than the coming match.

He said: "Journalists are only focused on Domenech, it is just like if the media were against the French team.

"It hurts us to be booed. Above all, I believe the fans have not understood that the French team has changed, a new generation has come.

"They have not resigned themselves to not having (Zinedine) Zindane anymore.

"For the fans, even 11 years later, the French team is still the World Champions!"
