Portsmouth manager Paul Hart insists the threat of swine flu is serious ahead of the trip to Blackburn on Saturday.

Pompey can climb above Blackburn in the Premier League table with a win at Ewood Park, which has been at the centre of a recent outbreak of the virus.

Hart admits that the Fratton Park outfit are taking all precautions necessary to protect their players and staff, although he revealed his only real focus is coming away with three points.

"When you are working in the close confines of a football club you have to be careful," he said.

"When things can be carried around you have to be extra careful.

Worries

"We're always conscious of that, and are sending people home if there is anything we think is wrong with them. We take measures.

"You have to be ahead of the game. Swine flu is serious, of course.

"Can we catch it on Saturday? That's the least of my worries at the moment.

"Trying to get some points from the Blackburn game is my biggest concern."

Portsmouth go into the game on the back of two 4-0 wins, against Stoke in the Carling Cup and Wigan in the league last weekend, and will be hoping to carry on their good run of form against Rovers.
