Goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer insists Fulham will recover from their Europa League defeat in Roma.

The Cottagers were beaten 2-1 by their Italian rivals on Thursday despite initially taking the lead through a Diomansy Kamara spot-kick.

They were also forced down to just nine men when both Erik Nevland and Paul Konchesky were shown red for separate incidents.

Although disappointed, Schwarzer insists his side will bounce back in time for Sunday's trip to Wigan.

The 37-year-old says the players are concentrating on their upcoming games and not dwelling on the past.

Focused

"I don't think it will affect the team," said Schwarzer.

"We've had a very good run the last couple of weeks and decisions against Roma were made that were out of our hands.

"Now we must recover as much as possible and prepare for Sunday's game at Wigan, which will be tough.

"The key to it will be to recover as much as possible. It's a long trip there (from Rome) and it's a hard game."

Schwarzer admits that Sunday's task is difficult but believes Fulham are more than capable of beating Wigan who have been inconsistent so far this term.

He said: "Wigan have had a bit of an up-and-down season so far but it's early, they have some good players and they have our respect.

"It's going to be a tough game for us."
