Chelsea captain John Terry is targeting victory against Manchester United on Sunday, believing it can help them win the title.

The Blues go into the game - which is being shown live on Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports HD1 at 4pm - two points ahead of their rivals.

A victory will open up a five point gap, and Terry believes this will provide a solid base to go on and take the title.

He told the News of the World: "I think it (the title) is (there for the taking).

Gone on

"It has been three years since we last got our hands on the trophy and if we win on Sunday we will give ourselves a good cushion.

"We have had that cushion before and we have gone on from there.

"There is an international break after the game and that means there is a long time for United to be looking at the league table."

He added: "When you are away with England you spend 10 days sitting next to their players so, for us, it is important to win and I think it is a good time to be playing them."
