Emiliano Insua has not ruled out the possibility of Liverpool winning the Premier League but admits they have a lot of ground to make up.

The Reds trail current table-toppers Chelsea by 11 points after being held to a 2-2 draw by Birmingham at Anfield on Monday night.

A run of poor results has increased the pressure on manager Rafa Benitez and all the players, with Insua acknowledging that Liverpool are not accustomed to such difficult times.

The Argentine defender knows they need to start winning games immediately if they are to get back into the title race.

"We are in a situation that is not too normal at Liverpool and we have to change this," he told Sky Sports News.

"I think we are doing everything well and I hope everything will change in the next few games."

Asked about Liverpool's chances of claiming the title, Insua said: "You never know. Right now we are a little bit far (behind) but you have to keep going and everything can change.

"Last season we were ten points behind and we finished two points (behind), so we have to keep going and winning games is the most important thing."
