Manchester City boss Mark Hughes admits that it is highly likely a player from United Arab Emirates will play for the club.

City are currently in Abu Dhabi as they prepare for a friendly against UAE.

The club are in the country as guests of their owner Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Sheikh Mansour has not yet attended a City game since buying the club last year, but he will finally get a chance to see them live on Thursday.

Hughes is more than happy his side are in the Middle East during the international break and he admits he can see their presence paying off in the future.

"With the mindset we have and the knowledge that we will gain, I am sure there will be players from Abu Dhabi wearing the blue shirt of Manchester City at some point in the future," he said.

Hughes also insisted that Sheikh Mansour is a huge football fan, despite the fact he is yet to visit the club in England.

"He is a big fan of football, so I would imagine he will be there," said Hughes.

"He has a huge knowledge of football in England, which is why he wanted to introduce himself to the players.

"We are thankful that it occurred because it was very special, especially for the younger players."
