Gennaro Gattuso's agent has played down talk linking the AC Milan midfielder with a move to Manchester City.

Reports emerging on Wednesday claimed big-spending City were lining up a January swoop for the Italy international.

Gattuso is reported to be unhappy at Milan under new coach Leonardo, with conjecture suggesting City could offer him an escape route out of the San Siro.

However, Gattuso's representative, Andrea D'Amico, insists he has not heard anything from City and that the 31-year-old has no problem at Milan.

"There is no truth in the Manchester City link," D'Amico told skysports.com.

"I have had no contact with Manchester City at this moment.

"Gennaro is coming back from injury and he is okay at Milan."
