Gary Megson was at odds on how Jody Craddock's goal stood as Bolton ran out 2-1 losers to Wolves.

The Trotters have sunk further into the relegation zone following Saturday's defeat to intensify the pressure on under-fire boss Megson.

The reverse to the promoted Midlanders came courtesy of Craddock's third minute strike and a Nenad Milijas' second-half screamer before Johan Elmander grabbed what proved a late consolation goal.

But the Wanderers boss had every reason for feeling hard done by at Molineux after seeing his side dominate the latter stages of the game, while Wolves' first goal was nothing short of controversial.

Craddock was clearly offside when Christophe Berra flicked on Milijas' free-kick but the officials failed to spot the Wolves skipper's infringement and Megson could not hide his disappointment with the linesman.

Pathetic

"It's so obvious it's untrue," he told Sky Sports. "I don't suppose (referee) Chris (Foy) can see it from his position. The referee, I think, is a good referee, but I think he has been let down badly by his linesman because Craddock is offside all the way.

"There are times where it comes down to antics of whether all his body is offside but to not be given offside is pathetic."

Bolton, who were leap-frogged by Wolves and slip to second-bottom in the Premier League, are in serious danger of the drop this year after a poor run which has seen them extend their winless record to five games.

But Megson is confident his side can get themselves out of trouble, although the Trotters boss is not convinced he will be given funds in January to strengthen the squad.

Finances

"We can survive it with what we've got, we don't have the finances - we never have," He added.

"Somebody asked me on Thursday in the press conference if I felt sorry for Mick (McCarthy) about the amount he has had to spend - it's 70 per cent more than Bolton had, but we have to cope with that.

"We've got what we've got. Whether there's finances available we will have to wait and see nearer to the time

"The players we've got - you've seen if we can play for 90 minutes as we have for 20, like against Manchester United six weeks ago, we can deliver but it's not happening at the moment and we've got to make it happen."
