Mamady Sidibe is determined to cement his place back in Stoke City's starting line-up.

And the Mali international is ready to consider rejecting an international call to cement his place at club level.

Sidibe has already made it clear to Mali that he did not want to be considered for selection for the African Cup of Nations which runs for most of January.

Sidibe's representative Gregory Dakad has confirmed to skysports.com that the target-man was wanting to win back his place with Stoke following his return to action last month after almost eight months out with a knee injury.

"Mamady has only just returned to playing and he wants to repay Stoke for the faith they have show in him," Dakad told skysports.com.

"Of course it would be hard for him to say 'no' to his country and he has not done that.

"A decision as far as we know from Mali has not be taken on who they will be taking to the African Cup of Nations, but nobody has contacted Mamady about that."

Dakad admitted that Sidibe is looking to win a new contract at the Britannia Stadium, but he has already turned down offers from City.

"He is out of contract in the summer that is true, and he is keen to remain with Stoke - but so far has rejected two or three offers from them," Dakad confirmed.

"Mamady is very happy at Stoke, but he needs the right deal."
