Malaga are hopeful of sealing a deal for Manchester City striker Felipe Caicedo.

The Ecuadorian international is currently on loan at Sporting Lisbon, however, the Portuguese giants have rejected the chance to make the move permanent and are happy for him to return to Eastlands.

City have no plans to use him again this term and are ready to let him leave on loan again for the remainder of the season.

Hull City are believed to have expressed an interest, but La Liga side Malaga are keen to take him.

"The interest is real, but a deal is not done," a club source confirmed.
