Harry Redknapp is hoping the impending fixture congestion in the Premier League will work in Tottenham's favour.

Last season, Spurs' run in the Carling Cup and Uefa Cup meant they had to fit a number of fixtures in over a short period of time.

Indeed they had to play a weakened team in the Uefa Cup just days before the Carling Cup final against Manchester United.

Now, after Spurs' clash with Liverpool was postponed at the weekend, Redknapp's side are likely to have to play up to five games in a two-week period.

"They are talking about playing it in two weeks and suddenly we have got five games in 14 days," he said.

"You never know, it can work in anyone's favour if you catch it right.

"We have seen it many times when teams end up playing six games in 14 days suddenly and it gets difficult towards the end of the season.

"It makes or breaks their season so we will just have to wait and see."
