Manchester City youngster Vladimir Weiss has been given the green light to leave Eastlands on loan this month.

New City boss Roberto Mancini has confirmed the Slovakia international can leave as he bids to earn a place at this summer's World Cup.

While the 20-year-old has been a regular on the bench for City this term, actual time on the pitch has been harder to come by, although he did net in the Carling Cup quarter-final victory over Arsenal.

Mancini has now told Weiss he can seek a move, with Bolton's new boss Owen Coyle and Stoke among those who have been linked the youngster, although the final decision will be left to the player.

The City boss said: "It is possible Vladimir will go somewhere on loan.

"He is a good young player who is going to be important to this club in the future.

"But he needs to play. We have not decided where though. That will be Vladimir's choice."
