Blackburn Rovers' Martin Olsson has admitted diving to win the decisive penalty against relegation-threatened Burnley on Sunday.

Clarets goalkeeper Brian Jensen was adjudged by referee Mike Dean to have tripped the Swede in the 20th minute at Turf Moor and David Dunn duly converted from the spot to earn a 1-0 win.

Burnley were far from impressed with Olsson's contribution as they suffered defeat to their fierce rivals and the 21-year-old has now risked additional wrath.

"I thought that I was going to get a yellow card," he told Fotbollskanalen.

"I saw that he (Jensen) stuck his foot out, but I might have overacted a little. When the referee blew I thought he was going to give me a yellow card, but it's up to the referee in that situation."

Sam Allardyce was full of praise for Olsson's all round performance in the win and the versatile left-sided player was more than happy to have impressed his boss.

"I am in good form but of course it's always nice to get some praise," added the youngster. "It's good to hear for your self confidence."
