Philippe Senderos is hoping the World Cup will allow him to showcase his talents to potential suitors.

The Swiss centre-half is out of contract this summer, making him available as a free agent.

He has spent the last seven years on the books of Arsenal, having joined the Gunners as a highly-rated teenager in 2003.

Senderos struggled to make the desired impact at Emirates Stadium, though, and was unable to hold down a first-team place.

He was loaned out to AC Milan in 2008 and spent the second half of the 2009/10 campaign with Everton.

The 25-year-old had hoped that such moves would allow him to secure a permanent move away from Arsenal, but he was left frustrated on each occasion.

Ideal

He is, however, now back on the market and hopes his time spent in the Premier League has not come to an end.

Currently preparing for World Cup duty with Switzerland, Senderos knows a positive showing in South Africa this summer will make him hot property.

A return to England would be his top priority, but he accepts that all he can do is give his all for his country and hope for the best.

"I'm at an ideal age, I'm going to play at the World Cup and I am a free transfer - what could be better?" he said.

"I would gladly stay in England."
