Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted he is huge admirer of England star Joe Cole.
Cole has been strongly linked with a move to the Gunners after Chelsea confirmed earlier this week the midfielder would be leaving Stamford Bridge next month following the expiration of his contract.
A host of sides, including Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham have been credited with an interest in Cole, but reports suggest Arsenal are leading the hunt for the former West Ham man.
Wenger refused to confirm his side would be making a summer swoop for Cole, but admitted he was a fan of the talented 28-year-old.
"I like him as a player because when he played against us he always did a lot of damage against Arsenal," Wenger told Sky Sports News.
"He can create impact through his creative play. He can dribble, he can pass, he can score goals."
Go on Arsene, time to try an english lad in midfield.Wud be great to hav joe.

I think is the right player for arsenal and have a great chance to prosperty more than any other club because of the style ars are using resemble with cole

I'm gutted as Joey Cole is my favorite player fullstop. I hope he gets what he's looking for. Whoever gets him can pay a massive wage packet since they are not paying sone 15 mil£ in transfer fees. A sad sad day for the Chels. Good luck Joey. I will miss you at the bridge.

Joe Cole would definately make a strong impact in Arsenal's squad in the midfield. Having him work along side Fabregas (or Gourcuff if Fab is released to Barca) and Theo. Having another english player may bring back the moral lost in the home fans. Definately a player worth snatching, especially if he's out on a free contract!

Would make perfect sense to get Joe Cole. No transfer fee (we like that), good experienced player. With question marks over Cesc, what better cover to have with Nasri and Cole. Just need a keeper and good center back, and the skies the limit!!

Joe is a great player sign him wenger

Joe Cole would be a good add-on to Arsenal. I'm a fan of his.

fregie sign him up. perfect replacement for dimitar, be a wonderful partnership cole and rooney.
Posted 18:16 10th June 2010
one problem with cole going to arsenal, he's english no englishman seems to make it in the arsenal system. he's a good player but maybe englishman are technically able enough to play for arsenal...........
Posted 18:04 10th June 2010
He will end up at City without a doubt.

Joe Cole is a player we must grab with both hands. His work ethic for Chelsea when he got a chance was second to none, and he has a great attitude. He's a modest and hard working player who will definitely keep blabber mouth Arshavin quiet as he would have to actually fight for a place in the team. Yes Joe Cole would be quite similar to the players we already have in midfield and we should definitely strenghten other areas, but what a great capture this would be. I'm a huge fan of his and he would bring immediate quality to the team, not potential. Get him Arsene!

Surely Arsenal already have so many players similar to JOey Cole, they should be looking at some better strikers and someone to replace Gallas., oh and a new keeper. Arsenal never spend big though and Cole on a free would be a good swoop... i cant see it happening though, Joe Cole to City.. probably the more likely in my opinion.

cole is a player arsenal need to sign.
Posted 15:24 10th June 2010
If Arsenal do sign him, please Mr Wenger do not stick him out on the wing. I remember Cole playing in central midfield for West Ham and giving a certain Partick Viera the run around, when the former Arsenal talisman was in his prime. He is wasted out wide, and should finally be given the opportunity to play in the pivotal position, his talent deserves. I'm sure if given the chance Arsenal and England will reap the benefits. If only Liverpool could sign him
Posted 15:14 10th June 2010
I'd love to see him at Asenal, get rid of the dead wood too. Rosicky and Eduardo need to leave they have done nothing in their time at Arsenal. Rosicky is always injured and since the leg break Eduardo is a shadow of his former self. His former self didn't live up to the hype either. Cole would be a great addition, it would bring balance to the left and bring in another English player.
Posted 15:05 10th June 2010
Yet another non-story. What's Wenger going to say? That he thinks Cole is crap? Expressing admiration for a player and buying him is a country mile from buying him.
Posted 14:58 10th June 2010
He will make a good signing. He is a good player. He is quick and strong. We need a play like him.
Posted 14:55 10th June 2010
hopefully the time has come for joe cole 2 come back 2 his roots and play in the red/white of arsenal come on joe and sign 4 the gooners
Posted 14:54 10th June 2010
Whoever gets Joe Cole will be getting a cracking player and match winner. I am a disapointed Chelsea fan, Not with the management but with cole himself, He would have had plenty of oportunity to play with ballack and others going. If you can't play for a team for 90k a week then it is time to say "good by!" just boils down to greedy agents.
