Fabregas: Preparing for World Cup
Arsene Wenger insists Arsenal do not want to part company with star midfielder Cesc Fabregas this summer.
The Spain international has again been heavily linked with a return to Spanish giants Barcelona during the close season.
The transfer merry-go-round involving the 23-year-old has been in full swing with the Liga champions doing little to hide their desire to bring the playmaker back to Camp Nou.
After seven seasons with Arsenal Fabregas, who is tied to The Gunners until 2013, is now reportedly keen to seal a move to Spanish champions.
However, Wenger, when quizzed about Fabregas' future, insists he does not need to speak about his star player and that Arsenal are not looking to do a deal with Barca.
Fabregas is currently with the Spain squad preparing for the World Cup and is refusing to let transfer speculation distract him from helping his nation become world champions.
"I don't need to talk about Cesc," said Wenger. "He has a deal with Arsenal and we don't want to sell him.
"I've spoken with Fabregas many times - as with all the players in the World Cup - but never about his future."

I think this is as emphatic as you can get from Arsene. For Wenger to make a dramatic change from this Statement would be the end of the man I know. Now that Barca elections are over, we could see a natural death of this distabilisation.

Well I think its obvious Barcelona are the better proposition, especially to him personally but thats beside the point. The point is Arsenal dont want to sell him and they set the price for him. I've heard quotes suggesting Barcelona dont/wont want to pay more than £30 Million, well perhaps they should've been more gentlemanly in asking Arsenal how much before making their interest public. They cant just approach any player and take their club for a mug! Arsenal should hold out for atleast £35,000,000 & Yaya Toure.

I really think this transfer saga should end, wenger needs to make up his mind and accept the fact that it would be difficult to keep fabregas, because the boy wants to leave.I honestly feel arsenal fans are the victims here.

Arsene Wenger had a great opportunity to prove that Arsenal where the team for Ces Fabregas, when they played Barcelona in the champions league. Barcelona then gave Arsenal a footballing lesson. So how can Wenger convince Ces Fabregas that Arsenal are a better proposition than Barcelona? and as a player who would you rather play for?
