Marlon King's agent Tony Finnigan has confirmed that a number of clubs have 'expressed' an interest in the Jamaican international.

King is available on a free transfer and he is due to be released from prison this week.

The 30-year-old was sacked by Premier League side Wigan when he was sentenced last year, but now he is set to be freed and he looks likely to have plenty of options.

His former Watford boss Aidy Boothroyd, now at Coventry, has been strongly linked, but skysports.com understands that a number of Premier League clubs are also keen.

His representative Finnigan has now revealed that King will have a number of options available to him.

"I can confirm a number of teams have expressed an interest in Marlon," he told skysports.com.

"They know he can do it at the highest level and for him to be available on a free transfer is an obvious attraction, especially in today's climate.

"That is all I am going to say at this moment in time, Marlon is released on Thursday and will discuss things further with him at that point.

"I have nothing further to add, except to say that it is also untrue that Marlon will be forced to wear a tag - as has been incorrectly reported in some areas of the press."
