West Bromwich Albion have boosted their goalkeeping options by completing a deal to bring in Boaz Myhill from Hull City.

As revealed by skysports.com earlier this week West Brom had lined up a move for Myhill as they look to bring in a new keeper.

Myhill has signed a three-year contract at The Hawthorns, with an option for a further 12 months and will battle with Scott Carson for the No.1 sport.

He has cost a fee in the region of £1.5million and the Wales international's sale will help to ease Hull's financial difficulties.

Baggies boss Roberto Di Matteo had been looking to bring in a rival for Carson and is happy to have added Myhill to his squad.

Good pedigree

"I'm delighted to welcome Boaz to the club," Di Matteo told the club's official website.

"He joins us at a good age and with a good pedigree, having helped Hull win promotion to the top flight and spent the last two seasons in the Barclays Premier League.

"Boaz obviously knows what it takes to play at the top level and he's also a good character. I'm sure he will fit nicely into our goalkeeping department.

"Competition is vital in all areas of the squad and I'm confident Scott and Boaz will drive each other on."

Myhill made over 270 appearances during his career with the Tigers and was a key figure in the club's rise up the ladder to the Premier League.
