Kalou: Warning for Mancini
Chelsea striker Salomon Kalou has become the latest Premier League star to take a swipe at the billionaires of Manchester City.
Several of the Eastlands club's rivals at the top of the table have warned that it will not be possible for Roberto Mancini's side to buy their way to the title this season.
City have already brought in the likes of David Silva, Yaya Toure and Aleksandar Kolarov, and further deals are expected as Inter Milan's Mario Balotelli remains a target.
But Kalou has indicated that defending champions Chelsea, who have benefited significantly from the investment of riches of owner Roman Abramovich, are not impressed.
He said: "Just because you bring in 10 new players every year doesn't mean you are going to finish top of the table.
"City did the same thing last season and finished fifth and I am not sure if they'll be any stronger this time.
"Spending a lot of money on new signings doesn't guarantee anything. City have to remember there are still teams like Chelsea, (Manchester) United, Liverpool and Arsenal who will always be at the top.
"And this year we will all be up there fighting for the title again."
