Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho has agreed with Sir Alex Ferguson's comments over Manchester City's 'kamikaze' spending.

Ferguson, manager of City's fierce local rivals Manchester United, hit out at the club earlier this month for the amount of money they have recently splashed out on players.

City boss Roberto Mancini has brought a pricey haul of new blood totalling over £100million to Eastlands this summer, including £16m signing Aleksandar Kolarov, who Portuguese Mourinho had been eyeing for the Bernabeu.

And the former Chelsea manager, who took the helm at Real after leading Inter Milan to their domestic and European treble last season, agrees that City's heavy spending makes it difficult for other clubs to snap up their transfer targets.

Difficult

"If they have the money and if they pay then it's not a drama," said Mourinho, speaking exclusively to Sky Sports News HD.

"But I understand that if someone wants to compete with them for a player, it's very difficult to compete against them.

"They are dominant in the market. The player they say 'this is the player I want' is the player they get.

"I was very interested in Kolarov when I came here. I couldn't compete with them, because they went to values that you cannot go.

"So when Sir Alex says 'kamikaze', if he's referring to the way they are going and eating the market then I agree with him.

"But if they have the money, they can do it. And if they have the ambition to win the Premiership, they can do it."
