Arsenal playmaker Samir Nasri could be set to return to action sooner than expected following a knee injury.

The Frenchman needed surgery after sustaining the problem in the 1-1 draw against Liverpool on the opening weekend of the season.

He was initially ruled out for a month but is now making good progress and might be back in contention after the international break.

Arsenal's next Premier League match is at home to Bolton on 11th September and Arsene Wenger would be delighted to be able to call on one of his main creative players.

Elsewhere, Robin van Persie (ankle) and fellow striker Nicklas Bendtner (groin) remain out.
