Bolton manager Owen Coyle will monitor the fitness of Ivan Klasnic ahead of Saturday's clash with Arsenal.

Klasnic, who sealed a permanent move from Nantes in the summer, missed the draw with Birmingham because of a thigh injury.

The former Werder Bremen frontman scored eight goals last season during a loan spell at the Reebok but has only played a minute of Premier League action in the opening day draw with Fulham.

But Coyle has confirmed the 30-year-old Croatian could make the matchday squad for the trip to the Emirates Stadium this weekend.

"What we have to recognise is that Ivan missed a lot of pre-season because of a dispute with his club," said the Wanderers boss.

"So we do not want to rush him back until we make sure he is right. But if he is able to train today and tomorrow he will put himself in contention."
