Carrick: Looking at the bigger picture
Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick is not reading anything into the team's late draw against Birmingham City.
Dimitar Berbatov's second-half strike looked like clinching all three points for the high-flying Red Devils at St Andrews.
With the full-time whistle approaching Blues salvaged an unlikely point when Lee Bowyer slotted home from Nikola Zigic's dubious lay-off.
However, the point was still enough to lift United back above rivals Manchester City and Carrick is looking at the bigger picture.
The former Tottenham and West Ham midfielder is happy with the club's form and insists confidence is still high in Sir Alex Ferguson's camp.
"It's easy to get carried away with that result and we were certainly down when we came off the pitch," Carrick told the club's official website.
"Late goals are always hard to take but given how it happened we feel hard done by. There was a push in the back and then obviously the handball.
"But it's done now, so we have to dust ourselves down and move on. We're still in a good position when you look at the bigger picture.
"We haven't lost, we're in good form - we played well at times tonight, controlling the game - and so we go into the next game looking to keep the momentum up."
