Ian Holloway insists it will take more than £3.5million to prise Charlie Adam away from Blackpool following their impressive win over Liverpool.

The Tangerines earned a 2-1 triumph against Kenny Dalglish's men to ensure a Premier League double over the Reds this season, as goals from Gary Taylor-Fletcher and DJ Campbell cancelled out an early Fernando Torres effort.

Adam, 25, has been the subject of interest of Aston Villa, Birmingham City and Liverpool during the January window but Holloway believes he will stay until at least the end of the campaign.

"I think he enjoys his football, I think he's very flattered that other people want him and I've told him how good he is and who he should go to," he told Sky Sports.

"Until those people come in, great clubs with great situations at the moment, then I don't think he should go anywhere at the moment because we're a good team, the crowd loves him, the players love him and he's part of a very successful team at the moment.

"Hopefully he'll agree with me and we'll have a look at it in the summer, because in the summer it's a totally different kettle of fish.

"He's got a year left on his contract, the swing will go to him and maybe to his agent. But I think he can help us stay in this division.

"We're a well run club and we don't need any awkward phone calls. If people think they're going to get Charlie Adam for £3.5million, I'm ever so sorry.

"Charlie's a fantastic player and I believe by the end of the season there's hardly anyone in that division who will be worth more than him, particularly not to us.

"I think he owes us, the Blackpool fans, his team-mates, myself, he owes us to stay here until the end of the season and I think it will be right for him. Unless Man United ring me up and give me a ridiculous offer, because I believe he's good enough for them as well."

Fine win

Blackpool continued in their attacking style at Bloomfield Road against Liverpool, and Holloway praised the battling spirit of his side after they went a goal down early on.

"It was a fantastic game and we more than played our part in it," he added.

"It looked like the Kenny Dalglish effect was going to sweep us away but my boys just keep going and keep going.

"We got back level and then we got the winner and managed to hold onto it this time which is a nice feeling.

"You have to show belief, you have to stay calm and this group of people have been absolutely magnificent for me and with me. I just believe in them.

"It's a wonderful way to watch people play football. They want it, they want to pass it, in the last couple of weeks we've made mistakes by overplaying, so today we had some of those lovely long diagonals which are difficult to play against. Well done to the boys."
