Stunning finish from Bullard. As soon as the free-kick on the edge of the Blackburn box was given, the whole ground knew what was coming and indeed he stepped up and curled the ball over the wall leaving Brad Friedel helpless.

Performance of the week

Reading

Two wins out of two for The Royals - who are now soaring up the Premier League table. Many will argue that Manchester City were far from their best but Steve Coppell's men still turned in a display just when it was needed as Shane Long and Dave Kitson both pounced to secure the win.

Miss of the week

Vedran Corluka

Croatian Corluka could have put City ahead at Reading but he missed a great chance.

A free-kick from the left touchline was sent over by Elano and bounced through to Corluka. He was perhaps caught out by the unexpected chance - and could only guide the ball over the bar from five yards with his knee.

Controversy of the week

Morten Gamst Pedersen goal

Fulham manager Roy Hodgson was left fuming with Blackburn's opening goal as Pedersen headed home Jason Roberts' cross.

Pedersen tangled with Paul Stalteri and appeared to trip the Canadian before heading home from close-range.

Luckiest goal of the week

Jermaine Pennant

Lady luck was definitely looking down on Pennant as he broke into the box at Anfield.

Jose Enrique looked to clear but all he managed to do was smash the ball against the Liverpool man and then watched as the ball looped over Steve Harper and into the net.

Save of the week

Chris Kirkland

The shot-stopper produced a top save in the first minute of Wigan's clash against Arsenal to ensure his side claimed an invaluable point.

He was called into action just 45 seconds into the fixture when Emmanuel Adebayor raced onto Cesc Fabregas' defence-splitting pass.

The Togo international looked set to slot home and give his side an early lead, but Kirkland was alert to race off his line and block brilliantly.
