Another wonderful weekend of Premier League action saw a plethora of top-draw performances.
Goalkeeping displays from the likes Boaz Myhill and Scott Carson had them close to sealing the honour.
Whilst Portuguese duo Cristiano Ronaldo and Jose Bosingwa both produced outstanding displays for Manchester United and Chelsea respectively, and the award did go to an Iberian in the shape of Spanish star Fernando Torres.
The Liverpool striker was at the top of his game as he put local rivals Everton to the sword with some great finishing as he helped himself to two goals in the Merseyside derby.
He volleyed home the opener on the hour before he then clinically finished to wrap up the win - outstanding from the Spaniard, but only as we have now become accustomed to.
Hull's display was not just performance of the week, but one of the best in Premier League history.
The Tigers produced one of the biggest upsets in living memory as they not only won at Arsenal - but did it from behind.
After a goalless first-half the deadlock was broken as Paul McShane put through his own net after great work from Theo Walcott and the staunchest of Hull fans would have been fearing the worst.
But luckily - none of Phil Brown's players believed that and they were soon level as Geovanni fired home a memorable strike (see below!).
The winner came just after the hour when new signing Daniel Cousin showed his capabilities to glance home an unstoppable header.
Again this was a tough call. Antonio Valencia's stunning first-half strike for Wigan against Manchester City would normally have been the finest goal.
But this was not a normal or average weekend in England.
The goal of the weekend was a touch of Brazilian brilliance as Hull midfielder Geovanni inspired his side to their wonderful victory at Arsenal.
Hull were 1-0 down when Geovanni picked up the ball on the left, but that was not on his mind as he cut inside and unleashed an unstoppable drive into the top-corner which curved and spiralled its way into the top corner with Manuel Almunia stranded.
Again we cannot look any further than Emirates Stadium for our save of the week - although Scott Carson at West Brom could easily have won the honour for a series of fine stops at The Riverside Stadium as he helped his side to victory.
But again it was a Hull man for us, as Myhill proved he is more than capable of playing at the top level.
The Welsh international had to be, and was, in top-form as he produced a world-class stop from Cesc Fabregas to deny Arsenal a share of the spoils.
Fabregas launched a goal-bound effort from the edge of the box in the final minute but Myhill was there to tip the ball over the bar at full stretch.
Liverpool's Irishman has yet to find his goalscoring boots since his summer switch to Anfield.
But the former Tottenham man is settling into the team as he showed on Saturday by creating the opening goal.
He was set free on the left and his brilliant cross to the back post left Torres with a relatively simple task to volley home.
As most Premier League weekends produce big highs, they also produce bigs lows and more often than not a referee is involved.
That is no different this week as two highly contentious penalty decisions played a huge part in the outcome of the games concerned.
While Cristiano Ronaldo's penalty, which he won from Jloyd Samuel's seemingly good tackle, was dubious - United went on to beat Bolton 2-0.
But we feel the real controversy of the weekend came at the JJB Stadium - as Steve Bennett's award of a penalty to Wigan decided the match.
With the game at 1-1, Wilson Palacios was challenged by Javi Garrido in the box when the Honduran took a massive dive to the floor - but Bennett was convinced and Amr Zaki stood up and dispatched the spot-kick to seal the win for Wigan.
Bolton put up a real display at Old Trafford against Man United before going down 2-0.
But things could have been so much different for Gary Megson's men had midfield star Fabrice Muamba converted just before the break.
He was free in the box as Gretar Steinsson's low cross rolled into his path.
But inexplicably, from barely 10 yards, the England Under 21 international was so badly off target his shot nearly rolled out for a throw-in.
Misery struck for Boro's impressive young keeper Ross Turnbull at The Riverside.
He performed well all day - but he made one error which cost his side as they lost 1-0 to West Brom.
Turnbull was the architect of his own downfall as he tried to punch a corner clear but his clearance only came for Ishmael Miller and he hooked the ball back into the six-yard box.
Jonas Olsson was then on hand to poke the ball home but Turnbull should have stopped it before it found the back of the net.
On a memorable weekend, there will be one moment which lasts long in the memory and that is Hull's win at Arsenal.

Adam Lambert (Manchester United fan) says...
Patrice Evra has been the best left back in the country so far this year and performed way better than Ashley Cole this weekend, his constant runs and trickery have been troubling teams every week.... I fail to see how you put Ashley ahead of him, granted Bosingwa deserved his place on the right, but Ashley didn't....

Torres player of the weekend, yes great to see the lad back, but Gerrard didn't get in team of the week why not. The lad had to play the role of mascherano and sat in front of the back 4 for the first half doing a great job may I add. Then in the 2nd half he had a chance to get forward more, within 10 mins of doing so what happens Torres scores, Gerrard did a job he was asked to do, to exceptional quality again, heart beat of the team and one of the best players in the world

I'm not even a wigan fan but i think Zaki should definitely be in the team of the week. He ran a strong city defence ragged all afternoon and deserved the goal he got from a penalty. Apart from that, i think sky sports have got all the rest spot on.
