Christantus: A wanted man

Nigerian starlet Macauley Chrisantus is being chased by a host of Premier League clubs - with Manchester City and United said to be leading the chase.

The 17-year-old striker was one of the stars of the recent World Under 17 championships as he helped Nigeria seal the title.

Christantus is currently plying his trade in his homeland with Abuja but he is soon expected to seal a move to Europe.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Ajax, Internazionale and Milan are also on his trail - along with Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool.

Chase

Although the two Manchester clubs are said to be leading the chase.

The player's advisor insists when Christantus does move - he will be moving for football, and not financial, reasons.

"Macauley's a special talent. Just about every top club in Europe has inquired about him," said his advisor Chris Nathaniel.

"The decision about where he goes will not be based on money. It's about taking him to the right club to develop his football."
