Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is hoping Wayne Rooney can continue his fine goalscoring form against Aston Villa.

Rooney extended his scoring streak to four games after finding the back of the net for England in Wednesday's Euro 2008 qualifier in Russia.

After failing to score in his first three Premier League outings this season the former Everton man now has four goals in his last four games in all competitions.

"I hope he's on a run now," stated Ferguson. "I thought he played really well on Wednesday.

"I thought he was probably England's best player and he scored an excellent goal."

Meanwhile, Ferguson believes long-term injury victim Gary Neville could be back soon, although Louis Saha is definitely out of the trip to Villa Park.

"Gary is doing very well, he's not far away now. He just needs games," he continued.

"Saha isn't available. He felt his knee before the Wigan game, so we sent him to see a specialist in France.

"Hopefully he'll be ready against Dinamo Kiev on Tuesday."
