O'Shea: United extension
John O'Shea has signed a new contract at Manchester United that will see him stay at Old Trafford until 2012.
The versatile Republic of Ireland international has proved to be an integral member of Sir Alex Ferguson's squad and has been rewarded with a three-year extension to his current deal.
O'Shea, who can operate in midfield or defence, has set his sights on bringing yet more silverware to the Premier League champions.
He told the club's official website: "I'm really pleased to be extending my contract with the champions. I have been at the club since the age of 17 and it is a dream come true to play for such a great club.
"I hope to play my part in bringing more trophies to the club and to continuing the success with this young, exciting team. I would like to thank the boss, the staff and the fans for their continued support."
Ferguson added: "John has developed in his years here at the club and is now regarded as one of the more experienced players.
"He has proved through his personality and professionalism he is an outstanding credit to the club and I am delighted he has signed a new contract."
