England manager Fabio Capello has warned Manchester United that their UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie with Roma will be a tough test.

Roma are the only Italian side left in the competition and have already met United in the group stages this season.

Capello, who led Roma to the Serie A title in 2001, believes the draw was not a bad outcome for his former club, who currently sit six points behind league leaders Inter Milan in Serie A.

"I believe that among the four English sides that Roma could have been drawn with, they have been paired with the team that will better suit them to express their own football," Capello told Rai Sport.

More organised

The Italian side were ousted from the quarter-final stage of the competition last season after a 7-1 thrashing by Sir Alex Ferguson's side at Old Trafford secured an 8-3 aggregate triumph.

Capello believes Roma are unlikely to suffer the same fate this time around as the heavy defeat last season will spur them on.

"The unprecedented defeat suffered last season at Old Trafford has helped Roma face rivals with more concentration in the Champions League this season," he added.

"I am certain we will see a different Roma, being more organised on the pitch and one that will do much better."
