Evra: Looking for maximum points
Patrice Evra was disappointed by Manchester United's Jekyll and Hyde performance against Everton at the weekend.
The champions dominated the first half and subsequently took the lead in the 22nd minute through Darren Fletcher. United could have gone into the interval further ahead had it not been for former Reds shot-stopper Tim Howard in the Everton goal.
Everton were a different side in the second half in getting about United and deservedly equalised through Marouane Fellaini, leaving Evra frustrated at the final whistle.
He told the club's official website: "I'm very disappointed, I feel we have lost two points. We played some great football in the first half and should have killed the game off.
"Our passing and movement was fantastic. I don't know why we didn't continue to play like that.
"Maybe we felt too comfortable because we'd played so well. But it's not just about playing well, you have to kill off the game when you have the chance. We didn't do that and it gave Everton confidence."
After falling further behind league leaders Liverpool after the draw at Goodison, Evra knows the importance of winning the next two games against West Ham and Hull, both of which are at Old Trafford.
He said: "You need to win every game when you play for United and it's important that we move on after losing two points here. We have two games at home and we need six points."
Meanwhile United goalkeeper Edwin Van Der Sar is confident that the Reds will show their best form in the months to come.
With only a midweek international break in November to contend with, the United squad will be working together for five months uninterrupted. Van der Sar believes this can only help the team.
"I think it will help a lot. We've got around five months together now which can only be good for the squad.
"Hopefully we can keep everyone fit, but we know we've got a big enough squad to cope with a couple of injuries or suspensions if that happens."
The Dutch stopper turns 38 on Wednesday and although Ben Foster and Thomas Kuszczak are breathing down his neck for the No 1 jersey, he insists he is just concentrating on his own form.
He said: "I just want to play as many games as possible. If the manager decides to give you a rest then you have to stand by that decision.
"But I feel really good at the moment and playing games is what it's all about."
