Manchester United have launched their new home strip for the 2009/10 season and we want to know what you think.

The strip is unlike any of the Red Devils' recent numbers with a black V-shaped stripe running across the shirt.

The new kit celebrates 100 years at Old Trafford with the strip similar in design to that which the United players wore in the stadium's first-ever season back in 1909/10.

The players will don the new kit for the first time on their tour of Asia next month.

However, we just don't want to hear from United fans. We want to know if your club has launched a new strip this summer and your thoughts on it.

Have your say using the form below and we will publish a selection of the best.

I think the shirt is cool! Mancester United's colours have always been red white and black and this time we've got a bit of black on the shirt which looks more lively. The shorts though are HORRIBLE! Plain white please, especially when we play in the Champions League when we wear white socks, now the red stripe is going to look so out of place...

as a football fan and a creative designer, its just plain horrible. for starters why have they gone with black/red? we all know thats too harsh on the eye and its certainly not pulled off here, not to mention the V shaped stripe. Poor! just go for the retro look!!!

When the previous home kit was released, so many people criticized how "simple" it looked including me, but after seeing the kits on the pitch "simplicity was simply classic!" Same opinion here, i don't understand the chevrons and the black looks kinda out of place with the red, but lets wait till the season starts before passing judgement.

The best united shirt to me were the Admiral in the 70's, then the Umbro in the 90's, the Adidas in the 80's. None of the Nike's shirts appealing to me except maybe last season was quite nice. I wonder, with all the money they have nike couldnt get a decent designer to at least give the adidas a kick in the teeth.

Ive been a United fan since 1983 and this is the worst kit Ive seen bar that grey kit we had when Fergie made the team change it at hal time when we were losing a EPL game. Its pants.............what more can I say!! We've already lost Ronaldo and soon to lose Tevez, so we need a kit that will pick the team up ......not this BS kit that depicts medicoricy!!!!!!!

I generally don't think creative kits are nice. It's the simple kits that are the best. I don't dislike the new shirt per se; I dislike the motives behind it. How is this a commemorative kit? We have never worn a home shirt with a black chevron down the front. The kit the club is referring to is the 1909 one-off FA Cup final kit - but this was white with a red chevron. How is this remotely similar? I like the shorts, which are similar to the ones worn by the pre-Munich Busby Babes, but the fact that Mexico's new home shirt also features this chevron, albeit one in a different colour, tells you everything you need to know: this is about Nike's advertising - not United's history. I like the Munich anniversary kit: plan red shirt with white collar and cuffs, all-white shorts and black socks with red and white tops - that is a proper home kit.

This looks like a rugby kit to me. Quite a few teams have started doing similar things like Doncaster playing in hoops and seeing this V makes the Great Britain and Australia rugby league kits come to mind

You all have mixed reviews, but as soon as Man United start winning and leading the league you'll all be buying the shirt.

Matthew Salamonski (Manchester United fan) says...

I like the kit but the chevron just seems to point right to the sponsor, AIG, instead of to the crest or something valuable to the club. I am going to wait until next season's sponsor so I don't need to have AIG on it.

Looks classy but wish the V was more flat. Not a horizontal stripe, just a smaller angle. Otherwise it looks pretty cool

Remember the Budweiser Ad showing 'Team Manchester'? This shirt seems so American, just like that ad.........Is it any coincidence that our beloved owners are American?

Looking back at some of the great shirts we have worn over the past 50 years i just cant see this fitting in. It is though we have taken the good old traditional english shirt and swapped it for an American style jersey so does this have somthing to do with the owners? After saying that i will still go out and purchase one as a utd shirts is a utd shirt i will support my team even if they were wearing pink.

Qadir Quayum (Manchester United fan) says...

The design is very 1980's like - the white away kit is okay, reminds me a little of the shirt that Ajax wore in the 70s. However, the home strip ? Yuk ! Think United have scored a huge own goal with this one...
