Wes Brown believes his return to the Manchester United side went well as he bids to help the Red Devils go on a winning run.

The defender played in the 3-1 win at Hull on Sunday after a spell on the sidelines with a hamstring problem.

Key defenders Nemanja Vidic and Rafael da Silva also returned in the game, with the trio's presence helping the Red Devils look far stronger than the side humbled by Fulham last week.

Brown believes their comeback, as well as the impending returns of Rio Ferdinand, Jonny Evans and Gary Neville, means United can push on in the second half of the season.

He told MUTV: "I thought it was a good performance and a good win.

"Hull made it tough for us but we did well in the end.

No feelings

"I had no feelings from my hamstring so the 12 days I had out (did the job).

"Myself, Nemanja and Rafael were back and hopefully soon Jonny, Gary Neville and Rio will be back so we can be back to a full-strength squad."

The win at the KC Stadium sent the Red Devils back to second in the league and Brown wants United to now show consistency.

"It's been a funny old season. Teams are losing games to everyone," he said.

"I think now we've got to start winning and keep the run going. We're in a confident mood now."

Brown also hailed the contribution Wayne Rooney at the KC Stadium after the England star atoned for an error in the game to play a part in all three of United's goals.

He added: "Wayne was devastated when he played their player in for their penalty but he keeps on going. He didn't mean to do it, it was one of those things.

"But if anything it made him work harder. He's got such passion for the game and his performance I thought was fantastic."
