Manchester United will hope history will not repeat itself as they bid to regain their Premier League crown next term.

For the Red Devils arguably threw away their title hopes last season when they lost to Chelsea at home and then could only draw at Blackburn.

The same sequence of fixtures happens this season as the title race climaxes - Sir Alex Ferguson's men face Carlo Ancelotti's side on 7th May followed by a trip to Ewood Park seven days later.

Ferguson's side begin next year's top-flight campaign with a home tie with newly-promoted Newcastle on 14th August.

They face arch-rivals Man City on 10th November at Eastlands, with the return fixture at Old Trafford on 12th February.

Likewise, North West rivals Liverpool will visit Old Trafford on 18th September, with the return trip to Anfield on 5th March.

The Red Devils will host Sunderland on Boxing Day, while fans face a trip to The Hawthorns to mplay West Brom on New Year's Day.

Now the fixtures have been announced, the process of selecting games for live TV coverage begins.

This season Sky Sports will show 115 live matches from the Barclays Premier League. We expect to announce the first batch of live matches in a couple of weeks followed by the first selections from the Football League and the Scottish Premier League.

As soon as any live television fixtures are confirmed they will be announced on Sky Sports News and on skysports.com.
