Manchester United 2-2 West Brom
Soccer Saturday analysis

"Did Manchester United play badly? No they didn't. West Brom had a go, so it was down to a bit of bad luck and the worse mistake Van will ever make in his entire season."
Charlie Nicholas Quotes of the week

Manchester United relinquished a 2-0 lead to be held to a shock 2-2 draw by West Brom at Old Trafford.

Sir Alex Ferguson's went ahead through Javier Hernandez and Nani to send the Red Devils sailing confidently into the break.

However, it all turned sour for the hosts after the restart as Patrice Evra first netted an own-goal in a scramble in front of the net before Somen Tchoyi, on his full debut, grabbed the equaliser five minutes later to secure the Baggies a point after a dreadful blunder by Edwin van der Sar.

"The first half Manchester United were classy and punished West Brom and you thought this was going to be one heck of a long day for the Baggies," said Nicholas on Soccer Saturday.

"Then West Brom did get a slice of luck with their first goal - and then van der Sar makes a howler.

"Did Manchester United play badly? No they didn't. West Brom had a go, so it

was down to a bit of bad luck and the worse mistake Van will ever make in his entire season. They did not defend badly - mistakes change matches and bad luck changes matches and that is what happened here.

"Rooney came on Scholes came on and they looked lively - they did not lack desire but West Brom just keep on going at you again and again. Credit where credit is due, the Baggies were first class."
