Chelsea have been linked with a swoop for Watford youngster Toumani Diagouraga.

The 17-year-old is very highly-rated by The Hornets - who handed him his first professional contract in November.

Blues assistant boss Steve Clarke was at Vicarage Road on Tuesday to watch Diagouraga in action against Newcastle United in the FA Youth Cup.

Diagouraga, who is yet to make his first team debut, was the star of the show as Watford beat Newcastle 1-0 - with the Parisian setting up the winner.

Chelsea are likely to monitor Diagouraga over the coming months, but could make a move, if he continues to impress.
