Milan have rejected reports linking Russia international Roman Pavlyuchenko with a move to the club.

The Spartak Moscow striker put a number of Europe's leading clubs on alert with his displays at Euro 2008, where he scored three times as Russia reached the semi-finals.

But Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani brushed off the speculation, claiming that the Serie A side are more interested in Chelsea's Andrei Shevchenko.

A possible return to Giuseppe Meazza for Shevchenko has never been far from the headlines and club owner Silvio Berlusconi has made no secret of his desire to welcome back the fans' favourite.

Love

The 31-year-old, who was failed to fire in the Premier League after his £30million move to Chelsea in summer 2006, remains a legendary figure in Milan after firing them to the Serie A title and the UEFA Champions League during a glorious seven-year spell there.

When asked about Pavlyuchenko, Galliani responded: "The only Chenko I love is Sheva.

"Shevchenko has remained in our hearts and if Chelsea decide to sell him we will acquire him. This is the wish of Berlusconi."
