Assmann: Highly-rated
Argentine goalkeeper Fabian Assmann claims Chelsea are interesting in signing him.
The highly-rated shot-stopper currently plays for Argentine giants Independiente.
He has been first choice at Estadio Libertadores de America since 2007 following Oscar Ustari's move to Europe.
Assmann, who has a European passport, is now attracting big interest with a number of English sides linked.
Aston Villa, Everton and Birmingham City are all said to be keen, but it is Chelsea's interest that has caught the headlines in Argentina.
And Assmann admits the reported interest from Stamford Bridge is an obvious attraction.
"There is some interest from Chelsea for June," he told Diablo Rojo Revista.
"But for the moment I have my mind focused on Independiente.
"I always try to listen only to what my agents say and when they told me that there was people from Chelsea watching at me in the match against Tigre last weekend, I got really surprised.
"I remember that last year there were also some teams from Europe interested in me but I don't lose my mind thinking about it.
"I must keep my feet on the ground to be able to keep on working normally and not get distracted."
