Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko is considering an offer to return to former club Dynamo Kiev, according to the president of the Ukrainian champions.

Dynamo admitted earlier in the week that they were hoping to secure the services of the unsettled forward, who has failed to make an impact at Stamford Bridge.

The 32-year-old, who moved to West London from AC Milan in a £30million deal in 2006 before returning to the Serie A side on loan last season, is said to be weighing up the proposal.

Dynamo president Ihor Surkis has offered Shevchenko the chance to become part of the club's backroom staff once he decides to hang up his boots.

Surkis said: "We've made a proposal to Andriy to return to Dynamo as a player and then, after his retirement, to become part of the coaching staff.

"His reaction to this proposal was very positive. Everything now depends strictly on him."

Shevchenko has previously stated he expects to hold further discussions with new Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti - who he knows well from his time with Milan - over his future during the club's summer training camp.

And Surkis is not anticipating an immediate response having tabled his offer to Shevchenko.

He added: "I expect him to give me a definitive answer by next month."
