Lampard: Rooney the best he has played with
[Rooney's] the most talented guy in our team and the best I've played with for England. He can create and score goals out of nothing.
Frank Lampard
Quotes of the week
Frank Lampard believes England team-mate Wayne Rooney would walk into the Brazil national team.
England face the South Americans in Qatar on Saturday in what will be a stern test ahead of the World Cup in South Africa next summer.
The Chelsea midfielder insists England possess a number of world-class players but singled out Rooney for being the man that would make even the Brazilians look-on enviously.
The 31-year-old is confident going into the game with the five-time World Cup winners despite the fact that Dunga's side have lost just once in their last 21 matches.
"We should believe in ourselves because our players have the talent to match anyone - including Brazil," he told Zoo Magazine.
"We've got top, top players, some of the best in the world. You're talking about Wayne Rooney, Steven Gerrard, John Terry and Rio Ferdinand.
"Those guys could be compared to any player in the world and I am absolutely sure Brazil would want them in their team.
When pushed on who he thought was top of the list Lampard added: "I would say Rooney because he is the one who can make special things happen.
"He's the most talented guy in our team and the best I've played with for England. He can create and score goals out of nothing.
"John Terry is the best defender I have ever played with and Steven Gerrard has everything, he's a complete midfield player, the stand-out one in England."
Despite the destination of the match coming in for criticism from some Premier League managers, Lampard feels the team can learn a lot from the encounter.
"I've played against South American teams before and they are difficult matches," he highlighted.
"They have a high skill level which will be difficult to play against, especially in Qatar's hot conditions.
"There's a lot of good teams out there so it's important we get ourselves right this time. We need a little bit of luck along the way but it's certainly possible."

Sean Hayes (Manchester United fan) says...
Probably picked Rooney out of guilt from the match at Stamford Bridge when he was through ONside and knowing well that Chelsea's goal wasn't a free kick with play being interfered with by.. guess who.. drogba.. and a blatant penalty denial.. Respect the ref? Give us a respectable one and we will!
