Chelsea captain John Terry believes everyone associated with the Premier League club has been boosted by Gael Kakuta's rise through the ranks.

The talented French starlet, who has been making the headlines for all the wrong reasons this season, made his league debut in The Blues' 4-0 weekend win over Wolves.

Terry knows he was one of the last players to come through the club's ranks and crack the first team and is pleased to see their production line contributing talented youngsters.

The England international believes the teenager's display against Wolves was encouraging, although he believes it is important for the youngster to stay grounded and continue to prove his worth.

Good to see

"It's good to see not only for the management and the players but for the fans as well," explained Terry. "I was probably the last one to really come through the ranks.

"Gael's a real exciting talent. He's just back from a bad injury and to see him come and play as well as he did, with confidence, is really encouraging, not only for him but for the other players in and around the reserve team.

"No one is getting carried away - Gael still has a lot to prove - but he's a great young talent and he's doing really well, along with Borini and Bruma."
