Didier Drogba and Samuel Eto'o have paid tribute to each other ahead of Wednesday's UEFA Champions League clash between Chelsea and Inter Milan.

Drogba and Eto'o are regarded as two of the most formidable strikers in world football but they are also close friends.

They will line up on opposite sides when the Blues face Inter in Italy in midweek and Drogba is wary of the threat Eto'o will present.

"I know the passion in Africa around their leading players, people there love us because we do well here and they give us strength to be the best," the Ivory Coast forward told skysports.com.

"Samuel is a friend and a great player. We all know he can score big goals in big games so we have to be careful with him.

"I am looking forward to the game."

Important

Eto'o believes it is crucial to keep Drogba quiet if Inter are to gain an advantage ahead of the second leg.

"It is very important to take a result to Stamford Bridge," said the Cameroon international.

"Didier is a friend so I wish him well, but in this game I hope we look after him then we can win our game easily."
