Besiktas president Yildiram Demiroren has warned that some players may not have a future with the club following Tuesday's humiliating 8-0 defeat to Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League.

The Turkish side beat Liverpool at home last month and had hoped to take at least a point from their trip to Anfield to boost their chances of progressing to the last 16.

But instead they found themselves on the receiving end of a Champions League record scoreline after a performance that coach Ertugrul Saglam later felt he had to apologise for.

Saglam promised that his players would do better in future, but Demiroren feels the result was unacceptable and is considering whether to let certain individuals have another chance.

"We may have to part ways with some of our players," Demiroren is quoted as saying by Turkish daily Hurriyet.

"Besiktas' interests come above everything else.

"We will have our board of directors meeting on Monday and we will act according to their decision."
