Gerrard: PFA contender
Steven Gerrard is a regular contender for the PFA Player's Player of the Year and his nomination this year again comes as no surprise.
The Liverpool captain has established himself as one of the best players in the Premier League and Europe since making his debut in 1998.
Gerrard is regarded by many as the prototype for the complete footballer in the modern game and he is respected by his peers as one of the best in the business.
The 27-year-old is the heartbeat of the Liverpool side with his dynamic style and his never-say-die attitude.
Gerrard possess power, pace, vision, and an eye for goal - making him one of the most talented players to emerge in England in the last 25 years.
The inspirational performer's versatility makes him a stand-out candidate for the Players' Player of the Year award as he has shone as both a central midfielder and second striker this season.
Gerrard began the season in his preferred central midfield position where again he showed his ability to attack and defend in equal measure.
The Reds' talisman moved into a withdrawn striker role behind Fernando Torres in the second half of the season and Gerrard has blossomed alongside the Spaniard.
The duo have formed one of the most devastating partnerships in the land making them a pair to be feared at home and abroad.
Gerrard has scored 10 Premier League goals - 20 in all competitions- and he has been instrumental in many of Torres' 21-goal haul in the top flight this term.
Gerrard scooped the PFA Players' Player of the Year award in 2006 and the England international is again a major contender for this year's prize following another influential campaign.
Not only is Steven a fantastic all-round player he is, without a shadow of doubt, a great leader of men. Plus, whether he's asked to play in the middle, on the flanks or behind the front man, you know you are going to get 100 per cent.
