Liverpool's Andriy Voronin has held talks with manager Rafa Benitez over his lack of first-team football, according to the striker's agent.

The Ukraine international returned to Merseyside for the start of this season after spending the last campaign on loan at Hertha Berlin.

Voronin impressed while in Germany and Hertha were interested in a permanent deal, but the forward opted to go back to Anfield.

However, the 30-year-old has failed to earn regular chances, with David Ngog the preferred back up to Fernando Torres, and he has discussed the subject with Benitez.

Voronin's representative, Andrey Golovash, said in The Sun: "Andriy has discussed his current situation at Anfield with Rafa Benitez.

"The manager doesn't argue about his good form but his position is still the same.

"He told us, 'all is fine, just wait your chance.' Still Voronin has no intention of leaving Liverpool. He wants to play and prove he can be useful for the team."

Fresh interest has emerged from Hertha, but Golovash maintains that Voronin does not want to return.

"Andriy is not interested in a move to Hertha. We are not even considering that."
